Florence Thune - VIH : informer et témoigner contre nos peurs

Florence Thune est directrice générale du Sidaction, qu’elle a rejoint en 2005 et a travaillé pendant 10 ans au sein du département des actions internationales. Elle a ensuite occupé le poste de directrice du service des programmes France en juin 2015 et a finalement été nommée directrice générale en mai 2017.

Forte d’une grande expérience associative, Florence THUNE a travaillé 18 ans au sein de l’ONG Handicap International. Elle a passé neuf ans sur le terrain en tant que chef des missions humanitaires à Djibouti et en Somalie, ainsi qu’en Thaïlande et au Pakistan et a travaillé pendant neuf autres années au siège de Handicap International en France. Pendant ce temps, elle a directement contribué à l’engagement de Handicap International dans le domaine du VIH et du handicap dans plusieurs programmes en Afrique et en Asie.

Florence Thune vit avec le VIH depuis 21 ans et partage régulièrement sa propre expérience dans les médias afin de lutter contre la discrimination et l'invisibilité croissante des personnes vivant avec le VIH.

Florence Thune is the Executive Director for Sidaction, a French advocacy and grant-making organization. She joined Sidaction in 2005 and worked during 10 years within its international programmes department. She then took the position of director of the national Programmes department (for France) in June 2015 and was finally appointed as Sidaction Executive Director in May 2017.

Florence started to work in the humanitarian field in 1987 with Handicap International, a large French non-governmental organization working on disability issues at an international level. She spent nine years in the field as Head of Humanitarian Missions in Djibouti and Somalia, as well as in Thailand and Pakistan and worked for other nine years at Handicap International’s headquarters in France. During this time, she directly contributed to Handicap International’s involvement in the field of HIV and disability in several programmes across Africa and Asia.

Florence Thune has been living with HIV for 21 years and regularly shares her own experience in the media in order to fight against discrimination and the growing invisibility of people living with HIV.
